A caution to Homeowners:


Today, a homeowner needs to be very careful in selecting anyone to do work on their home. Unfortunately, there are countless unscrupulous home repair companies out there, and far too many homeowners have become the victims of shoddy work and even outright scams.


Many are referred to as "storm chasers" because they materialize immediately after a severe weather event, looking for quick business. Others we call "pop up companies" because they tend to open a business, saturate an area with high-pressure sales people, low quality work, and then by the end of the summer their "business" no longer exists.


Be cautious of:


  • Door to door salespeople, telemarketers and literature left at your door. These forms of advertising often indicate an attempt to quickly saturate the neighborhood and sign up homeowners who may or may not need roofing services.
  • Ridiculous claims and promises to pay your insurance deductible for you, or offers of warranties that last forever. They can promise anything, if they don't intend to be around long enough to back it up.
  • Too much urgency on the part of salespeople. If you must sign right now, it may mean they don't want you to check out their company or the competitiveness of their offer.
